How does Zumi make money if it's free for artists?

Artists always receive 100% of their deposit directly in their Stripe account. We don't take any cut from that.

Instead, we charge clients a small 4% fee at the time of booking, and this fee only applies to the deposit amount. With most deposits ranging from $50 to $100, clients typically pay just $2 to $4 in Zumi's fees.

This small fee allows us to offer a comprehensive platform that includes easy scheduling, secure payments, in-app messaging, custom requests, and more. It's our way of providing value to both artists and clients while keeping our service free for tattooers.

How does Zumi handle different types of tattoo bookings?

We've designed our system to accommodate both flash tattoos and custom requests:

For flash tattoos: Clients can self-schedule appointments based on your customized availability. You set the available times, and clients can book directly through your Zumi profile.

For custom tattoo requests: We have a proposal system where clients can submit their ideas. You have the ability to review, approve, or deny these requests based on your preferences and availability.

This dual approach allows you to offer streamlined booking for simpler designs while maintaining control over more complex, custom work.

How do I manage my availability on Zumi, including for guest spots?

We've made it easy to customize your availability:

You can fully customize your schedule, easily opening or closing your books as needed. Set specific hours for bookings that work best for you.

We support location-specific calendars, making it simple to manage bookings for guest spots at different locations.

This flexibility allows you to maintain control over your schedule, whether you're working at your home studio or traveling for guest spots.

How does Zumi handle cancellations or rescheduling?

We've designed our system to protect your time and income.

Deposits are non-refundable, which helps safeguard you against last-minute cancellations. In the rare event of a client dispute, we've got your back--we cover it 100%.

As for rescheduling, we've made it super easy.

You can simply pick a new date and move the appointment. This flexibility allows you to accommodate changes while maintaining your booking integrity.

What kind of customer support does Zumi offer if I encounter issues?

We pride ourselves on our personalized customer support.

When you reach out, you'll be talking to real humans--usually Alex, Brian, or Satoshi (thanks, guys!). We typically respond within 30 minutes or less during normal business hours.

No chatbots or automated responses here; we're committed to providing you with direct, personal assistance whenever you need it.

Can I set different deposit amounts for different types of tattoos or services?

We understand that different tattoos and services may require different deposit amounts.

With Zumi, you have the flexibility to set as many different deposit amounts as you want. This allows you to tailor your pricing structure to match the variety of services you offer.

Is there a way to track my earnings or generate reports through Zumi?

While we don't have a built-in reporting system, all of your financial information and reporting is available through your connected Stripe account.
